What to Expect

Ideal For

Social Skills Groups For Children

Our small group social skills instruction is led by trained professionals, including Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) and skilled therapists, in environments that promote safety and comfort. Our emphasis is on teamwork, effective communication, and emotional regulation—core areas essential for social success. Children participate in a variety of activities designed to promote collaboration, empathy, and problem-solving, all while practicing real-life social scenarios.

Throughout the year, we host seasonal offerings such as summer camps and themed groups—like LEGO building, cooking/baking, arts and crafts—that make learning exciting and relevant to your child’s interests. Our dynamic activities include hands-on projects, field trips, and community engagement outings, giving children opportunities to practice skills outside the clinical setting and build confidence in everyday situations.

Our approach is data-informed, meaning we continually measure each child’s progress through careful, ongoing tracking of social and emotional growth. With small staff-to-child ratios (4:1), we ensure personalized attention, meaningful interactions, and effective support for every child. Parent feedback and involvement are integral; we provide regular updates and strategies so families can reinforce social skills at home and in the community.

What can my child expect from the social skills groups and events?

Children participating in our programs engage in small, structured group activities tailored to their developmental level and social goals. They focus on building teamwork, communication, emotional regulation, and social problem-solving skills through engaging activities such as arts, cooking, LEGO projects, and group games. Additionally, children participate in outings and community field trips, providing real-world practice and opportunities to apply their skills in everyday settings.

Who are these programs ideal for?

Our social skills groups are designed for children ages 4–17 who want to enhance peer interaction, emotional regulation, boundaries, and social confidence. They are especially helpful for kids experiencing social anxiety or challenges in group settings. The programs serve children involved in other therapies like speech or occupational therapy, supporting holistic growth, as well as families seeking fun, community-based opportunities for social development.

How are the groups structured, and what activities are included?

Our groups are small, typically with a staff-to-child ratio of 4:1, to ensure personalized support. Activities include teamwork exercises, social scenarios, and community outings, all aimed at practicing and reinforcing social and emotional skills. Seasonal offerings such as summer camps and themed groups—like LEGO, cooking/baking, or arts and crafts—keep children engaged and motivated throughout the year.

Where are the child groups held in Philadelphia?

Our social skills groups are held in safe, supportive communal environments such as cafes, schools, and doctors' offices. Many activities take place at one of these established locations, but we also organize community outings and field trips to local sites like parks, markets, and recreation centers, providing children with real-world settings to practice their skills.

How do you track and measure my child's progress?

Our approach is data-informed, meaning we continually monitor each child's social and emotional growth through ongoing assessments and progress tracking. Regular updates are provided to families, highlighting improvements and suggesting targeted strategies to reinforce skills at home and in the community.

What safety measures and environmental considerations are in place?

All activities are conducted in comfortable, safety-conscious environments designed to promote a sense of security. Our small groups foster a positive, inclusive atmosphere where children feel supported in exploring new social skills. Our staff is trained to maintain a respectful, empathetic environment focused on safety and well-being.
