For Philadelphia Parents
In-School ABA Support
On-site behavior support inside the classroom your child attends. Preschool through elementary, across the Philadelphia area.
What We Do Inside Schools
In-school ABA support brings a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and trained 1:1 staff into the classroom your child attends. The work takes place in the classroom during academics, transitions, lunch, recess, and specials, with the teachers who already know your child. Support for any one student depends on the goals and on what the on-site observation reveals.
1:1 Classroom Support
A trained RBT works with your child during the school day, supporting attention, transitions, communication, and behavior as situations arise.
IEP Participation & Review
We attend IEP meetings, contribute behavioral goals, and review existing plans with your child's school team.
Functional Behavior Assessment
An on-site assessment that identifies why a behavior is occurring before any plan is written.
Behavior Intervention Plan
A written plan based on the FBA findings, carried out by school staff with our coaching.
Classroom Observation & Consultation
On-site visits to observe, gather data, and advise teachers and administrators when a full-time placement is not needed.
Staff Coaching
Training and coaching for teachers and paraprofessionals on behavior management strategies for your child.
School-Based Social Skills Groups
Small group work during lunch, recess, and specials, when the social load on your child is heaviest.
Transition Planning
Support during the move between grade levels, programs, or schools, so progress carries forward.
How Support Looks Day-to-Day
In-school ABA looks different from one student to the next. Some children need 1:1 staff with them across the school day. Others do well during academic blocks but struggle when structure drops. The level of support your child receives is decided after our on-site observation.
Full-Day 1:1
For students who are off-task or dysregulated across most of the school day. A trained RBT shadows the child, providing support during academics, transitions, peer interaction, and behavior as it occurs.
Targeted-Window Support
For students who manage during academic blocks but struggle when structure drops. Support is scheduled around the parts of the day that cause problems, typically lunch, recess, and specials like music or PE.
How We Start
Every in-school case starts with a conversation between you and us. We move into the school only after we have seen the environment for ourselves.
Parent Intake Call
You tell us what is happening with your child, what the school has tried, and where the day is breaking down. No school visit at this stage, and no commitment.
On-Site Observation & Teacher Interview
We come into the school, observe during the periods that matter for your child, and talk with the teachers who work with your child every day.
Assess and Deliver
After the observation, we recommend the level of support that fits your child and begin services in the classroom.
Once staff are available, services usually begin within about a month.
Schools We've Worked Inside
Elba Behavior Solutions clinicians and 1:1 staff have provided in-school support across Philadelphia-area public, charter, private, and religious schools, including:
Clearances, Training, and What It Costs
No child can be treated by an ABA provider in any setting without the proper clearances. We carry all of them.
Clearances and Staff Training
Pennsylvania child abuse history clearance. FBI fingerprint clearance. Mandated reporter training. Active CPR certification. Our 1:1 school staff complete Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training.
How In-School ABA Is Funded
Preschool and pre-K: commercial insurance covers in-school ABA in most cases. Kindergarten and up: Medicaid or private pay.
Who Gets Billed
The bill goes to the parent, through your child's commercial insurance, Medicaid, or private pay. Schools do not pay for our services.
Common Questions From Parents
Who pays for in-school ABA?
Parents do, through their child's commercial insurance, Medicaid, or private pay. Schools and districts are not billed.
What ages do you work with in schools?
We work with children of various ages, though most of our in-school students are in preschool or elementary.
How do services begin?
Each case starts with a phone call between you and us. After that, we go into the school to observe and talk with the teachers before recommending any level of support.
Are services on-site or remote?
Almost always on-site. The behaviors we work with happen at school, so the support has to be there too.
How long does it take to start?
The timeline depends on staff availability. Once we have an RBT or BCBA available for your child, services usually begin within about a month.
Start With a Parent Call
The first conversation is short. You tell us what is happening at school, and we tell you whether in-school ABA fits what your child needs.
Elba Behavior Solutions welcomes children and families of all backgrounds and abilities.
